Morning Ross,

May I thank you for the excellent organisation and support you provided to us. The Borgata Lodge was quite superb and the courses challenging. All in all - a great holiday. We did try to call you directly to say 'thanks' but could not get through. Ah well, back to work.

We had a great time in Vegas, but.....

Boy, were you right about golf in Vegas - - - there are much better options out there. Legacy was forgettable, but the other courses were very nice. Badlands is a great course with the most incredible houses/castles I\'ve seen on golf courses. Paiute reminds me of We Ko Pa in Scottsdale, but is not quite as good. Revere is fun in those canyons, but some of the holes were a disappointment.

Quite a test though. The canyon layout reminded me of Stone Tree in Navato, CA - Johnny Miller layout.

The weather was the tough part. The forecast was for high temp\'s and low wind. We got low 50\'s with winds in the high teen\'s with gusts to 50mph. It was a lot of work to be out there all day for 36 holes. The noise, cold and buffeting wind really wore us out. Being a lake bed, the air was full of sand and grit. After a while it was something other than golf.

We are now cured of 36 holes/day. It\'s one thing in great weather, but with the cold, etc. we have re-thought our priorities.

Because we had so much golf planned I sure wouldn\'t bother staying on the strip.

The best dinner was at Carnevito\'s in the Venetian. I\'ve been to Italy several times. The food at Carnevito\'s is authentic and good. It\'s set in the imitation Piazza as a sidewalk cafe. Incredible setting that I highly recommend.

The worst and most expensive was Carnevino\'s - - similar but different name. Mario Batali\'s rip off. The meat was excellent but under-cooked. Some of the side dishes were good, but most were average or just bad. The presentation of all but the meat was without artistry.

The wait staff were not restaurant people. They just read from a script and lacked the service gene necessary for a good experience. Bill for seven diners was $1,400 with wine. The wine was some of the cheapest on the list. After adding 20% for our large group the waiter laid the guilt on to get us tip even more. I thought the whole thing targeted guys with no training or experience with food who would buy the name, the huge steaks, etc.

So, again, you were right. Mesquite would have been much more fun and cheaper. If you book there the most incredibly beautiful course is Entrada - another Johnny Miller track.

I\'ll be back to firm up the Bend Oregon trip.

I talked up your service to everyone and made sure they have your contact information for Golf The World Vacation. Everything you touched worked out great. There were no surprises at any of the courses.

Thanks for organizing the golf Ross. We had a great time dispite the very chilly weather. We would all like to do Black Mtn again when it\'s warm and not so windy and snowy. We did enjoy The Rise and Canoe Creek as well. Very much spring conditions. We also loved the hotel in Salmon Arm (Podollan Inn) but can\'t say we were really taken with Kelowna\'s Accent Inn. Hope to be out that way again in the summer. (it will be summer some time won\'t it?)

Just wanted to express my thanks once again for our recent golf excursion to Kamloops which you had a huge hand in making it one of our best ever!!! The weather was amazing...33-35 C everyday and what can I say about Tobiano...probably one of my top 2 courses I have ever played ( same goes for the rest of our group ) Some tougher holes than others but the whole experience was unreal!! I will be in contact with you in April of 2011 to make this all happen once again. More than likely back to Kelowna but we\'ll see!?! As a group, we are talking about making this a bi-annual thing but you know how that works with wives, etc.....it\'s a \"work in progress\".

Thanks again Ross, Scott Torget

Hey Ross. I thought I would drop you a line and let you know the golf trip was great. Canoe Creek was a great suggestion I probably enjoyed that the most out all 3 courses it was in mint condition.

The hotel was fabulous and they were great treated us very well. Thanks again for all the help and I will be in touch in regards to next years tourney.

Hi Ross, Just to let you know that our golf outing in Kamloops was a complete succes. The Hampton treated us well and provided a mini-suite in one of the rooms for our 'post-game review'. Rivershore gave us four pictures of beer on the house because of a 25 minute delay on our t-time. We all enjoyed The Dunes and managed to escape with only one hole of rain. The highlight for all of us was Tobiano. The weather was perfect, the course is spectacular and we all agreed it is a 'class act'. We will definitely be using your services next September in the Kelowna area. On behalf of the Yumper group, thanks for all your help. Best Regards, Bob

We were a group of twelve golfers and made Salmon Arm our home base. We stayed at the Podollan Inn where we we treated like kings. Their hospitality was great. We played Salmon Arm Golf Course, Hyde Mountain Mara Lake in Sicamous, Talking Rock in Chase and Canoe Creek in Salmon Arm. All the courses were in great shape and the employees from the Proshop to the greenkeepers were friendly and helpful, A trip of a life time. Thanks Ross

We just flew home from Kelowna today and I want to thank you for setting up a great trip for us. The Manteo Resort was an awesome place to stay and they treated us really well. The weather was challenging...we even got a few minutes of snow on Tuesday at Kelowna Springs...but we still enjoyed the courses. Another year we may choose to come the last week of April to catch a bit more spring!

All of the personal at the courses were great to us as well. BCgolfguide.com seems to be held in high regard by the people out there. The new course, The Club at Tower Ranch, is definitely a winner...we enjoyed our round there and will add it to our list of must play courses. Thanks again for setting up our trip. You did a great job!

Just wanted to send you an email to say how much I appreciate everything you did to organize our trip. Absolutely everything was perfect! You made me look really good as the organizer. Everyone loved the fact that all they had to do was show up and everything was looked after. I highly recommend the Hampton hotel. The staff was fabulous, room was exceptional, and the pool / hot tub / and even the water slide made for a great way to soothe some aching muscles at the end of the day. Even the breakfast was quite good and the topping on the cake was fresh baked cookies when we checked in at the desk. SWEET. I do not know how you managed to pull off the incredible weather we got but great job there too! Thanks again and you can look forward to booking our group again next year. Paul Cowl

Ross, please accept my apologies for responding so late after our trip, but June is a very busy month for me.
I just want to thank you for having our trip so well organized. The accommodations were great, and all of us were very impressed with the courses. Kelowna has another winner in the Black Mountain course ( None of us got close to your 79, but we will blame that on the alcohol factor). We are most definetly doing this again next year, and will be calling on you to get us set up again. On behalf of the group Thank you.

Good morning Ross. Just a short note to inform you that the package you provided to the seven golfers from the lower mainland was a great success.

Everything went smoothly, without a hitch. We enjoyed a sunny round of golf at Tobiano. The wind got up for the last four holes and cooled it off, but nothing compared to what it might have been.

Wednesday was cooler and rainy in Kamloops, but the sun came out when we arrived at Talking Rock. Played the entire round without one drop of rain. All the golfers enjoyed that course, commenting that it was more \'player friendly\' than Tobiano, and held much different but very beautiful scenery. Eagle Point did not disappoint on Thursday morning, and they all left having enjoyed their trip into the interior.

Thanks again. Bill Brown

I've been meaning to contact you, just to give you the 'thumbs up' on our holiday package in Kelowna. The Coast Capri was a great place to stay, close to everything. We encountered a bit of drizzle/rain the first two days, but nothing to hold us back from golfing. We were very happy with the courses we played; and their hospitality was wonderful...particularly Sunset Ranch - I'm just sorry we didn't plan that day to stay there to eat, they seemed to have been the most friendly, and accommodating. Balfour was so much fun especially the back 9. And last, Kokanee Springs which is amazingly beautiful, very challenging and we would love to play it again. The Kootenay Lakeview Lodge....all I can say is WOW - the view is stunning and the food at dinner was amazing on both nights!!!
Thanks again Ross for taking care of us and we will

I even forgot my actual passes that Ross sent me a couple weeks before the trip and I had to call him from the course and get him to fax them ASAP which he did…to the applause of our group! Anyways, look forward to booking with you again next year Ross, thanks again!

Ross….My time at Tobiano was more than I could have hope for or imagined!! The course is terrific, and the staff was second to none. I can not wait to come back again. Surely, it will be an annual trip for me at least. Dave, Nicole, Jesse, Sam and the other gals in the restaurant went the extra mile to make my experience memorable. Miles left me a momento, which I will send him a thank you note for. A golf club head cover…horse with Tobiano written on it! Fanatastic!! I appreciate all you did to put the lodging and golfing together…and for passing on the vette pics. A way cool trip!!

Ross - I'm sorry it's taken a week to write this letter, but the week since we came home from holidays has been very busy as we expected it would. We both wanted to write to say what a fantastic golf holiday we had, and to thank you for setting it all up for us. We are already looking forward to doing something similar next year. We both think that we would do it a little earlier next year - maybe the last couple of weeks of Sept - the Okanagan was having unseasonably cold weather and there were 3 or 4 days where we had frost delays. However, we had sunshine most of the time, and only one day of rain. A minor hitch was a couple of days with no hot water or heat in our suite at Playa Del Sol. However the woman we dealt with - Leanne was extremely pleasant and was ready to move us if needed - fortunately the problem was fixed and we were able to stay in the suite. We were very pleased with the accommodations in Kamloops - the room at the Hampton was lovely. And the Playa Del Sol suite was gorgeous - we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with a fabulous view and we were able to have all our meals in comfort in the suite. Our son came up for the Thanksgiving weekend and there was plenty of space for him. Possibly as a result of how nice this room was, we were a little disappointed when we first got to the Surfside Hotel. We were in the old part of he hotel, and although the room was very clean, it was very basic, there was no view, and very little soundproofing. However, after the first night we checked with the manager, and chose to pay extra to upgrade to a suite in the new part of the hotel with a stunning view over the lake and with a fireplace (which was very appreciated after a day of golfing in October!).

So as I said before, we are already excited about next year. We think that we would go for 2 weeks again, but would probably look at staying in only 2 places and would choose somewhere like the Playa or the suites at the Surfside with a kitchen. (Anne would like to try some other similar accommodations next time to allow us to experience different places). It is definitely worth it to us to spend a little more on the accommodations to get somewhere a little upscale. We absolutely loved the golf and the courses you helped us choose were great, but next year I think we would plan for 3 days of golf in a row and a day off in between so that we have time to travel around and do and see other things. So once again - thank you for a very memorable trip.

Thanks for arranging a great Okanagan golf trip. Everything went completely smooth, no glitches with anything, including the weather. Of the 9 courses played, our favourite 3 had to be Tobiano, Predator Ridge and Tower Ranch with Gallaghers Canyon, Okanagan Quail and the Rise just behind them. Sun Rivers was mostly interesting but had a few contrived holes that were quite easy to lose a ball on even after a good shot down the middle. Black Mountain was interesting but felt a bit jammed into too small an area. The Dunes was fun but not as interesting as some of the mountain courses. Thanks again for the great arrangements, we'll certainly use you again for our next trip to the west.

Thanks for organizing our recent golf holiday. We had a great time and the Watermark Resort in Osoyoos, it was perfect. We enjoyed the Osoyoos CC, desert course, as the weather was perfect. We golfed Monday in thunder and pouring rain at Inkameep, with a couple from our own course in Richmond. We joked how only Vancouverites would golf in this rain. Fairview was excellent, sunny, and hot. Thanks again for everything.

Had time to digest the Kamloops trip. I would like to start off by saying thank you for the excellent organization on your part. The Ramada personnel and service were great. No problems of any sort and they were very accommodating at breakfast time.

The 3 golf courses (Rivershore, Sunrivers and Dunes) had all the carts and names printed..... that was very classy!! Also the personnel at all the courses were very friendly and polite!!

By the way, we got very lucky with the weather .. just got a little wet on Tuesday but all in all very fortunate.

Just wanted to drop you a note expressing our thanks for your help in setting up a very enjoyable trip to Kamloops. We were very impressed with all the courses (found Tobiano pretty difficult and Talking Rock a pleasant surprise) and all the people we met there. The Thompson Inn was in a front lobby reno, but it wasn't an issue really, people were good and its very central, we enjoyed being right downtown on Victoria St as opposed to up the hill at say the Accent Inn, which is something you might want to hi-lite for people ( either way ). I think Kamloops has got it right in their customer/service/attitude department, found everyone from hotel, golf course and restaurant staff to be excellent, may want to pass that onto to the appropriate authorities. Big thumbs up for the 3.2.1. Bistro, awesome restaurant! Thanks again - Len

Danny, thanks again for your help with our Bend Oregon trip. Everything went great.

Caleb Anderson took an interest in our entire trip and made every effort to make us feel welcome. The bookings with the other courses went like clock work.

The recommendations were spot on. Tetherow was terrific, though the greens were recently sanded so we missed out on what are reputably beautiful and fast greens. Brasada was a real contrast to Tetherow. It\'s another beautiful course with a completely different feel. Huge views and lots of decisions involving changes in elevation. The wildfires in the area partially obstructed the view of the mountains, but the views were still great.

The Nicklaus course at Pronghorn was our favorite. It\'s a beautiful desert course that doesn\'t overpower the desert. Rather, it lets the desert in to serve as part of the landscape. Nicklaus is a thinking man\'s designer. You\'re never sure you see all the options or all the possible consequences. If your shot is below average there is likely to be a consequence. There were no lucky misses. We (including a 3 and a 6) were all mentally tired after the round. We have great respect for Nicklaus after playing his courses at PGA West, La Paloma and Pronghorn.

We have a gift to send to you. What address should we use? Is there a carrier that works best from USA to Canada? Thanks, again. We\'ll be back.

The suite in Panorama we stayed in was beautiful, it had a great view. We only had one hiccup, they had a scheduled power outage from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon on one of the days we stayed, we were on the 5th floor and when trying to get outside, none of their emergency lighting worked, we had to use our cel phones to try and find the way out of the building. We did mention it to their head office.

The golf courses were very well maintained. The staff at Fairmont Mountainside Resort was best, excellent customer service in pro shop and on the course. We loved the golf and had great weather.

Hi Ross,

I greatly appreciate all the assistance in setting up our 35th \"Okanagan Master\'s\". Four rounds, three nights of a golf extravaganza for our 28 guys from Nanaimo! As usual, we had a blast! We stayed one night at Quaaout Lodge, played Talking Rock twice before moving on to Kamloops, staying at the Ramada Inn and golfing at Sun Rivers then The Dunes. (Would have liked to play Rivershore but it was not available). Here\'s our input:

Quaaout Lodge is an outstanding facility with great rooms, great hot tub, pool and steam room. Fantastic views. The staff were friendly and helpful but the food and beverage service was \"wanting\". The F & B staff were not overly busy but they seemed disorganized and untrained. It took (and I\'m not kidding) one and one half hours for three of us to get our dinner meal on Sunday June 5th. Also, several of our participants commented that they objected in principal to paying 12% HST, 7% B C Liquor Tax AND 5% First Nations Tax! Some of our group participated in the Sunday Brunch, which received high marks, and all 28 had dinner, breakfast and lunch after golf before departing. The quality of the \"from the menu\" meals was good.
At Talking Rock we found the staff friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Our guys rated the course as excellent and very suitable for our diverse handicap group (8 - 28). Very good practice facilities with driving range having grass tees. The greens were slower than they looked! Many said they would enjoy playing all four rounds at Talking Rock and stay at the Lodge if the F & B dept. could get their act together.
At the Ramada Inn in Kamloops we found the staff friendly and accommodating and the rooms adequate for our needs. June 6th.,26 out of 28 watched game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals in the 3rd floor lounge, had dinner and enjoyed a few cold ones. The lounge staff was fantastic and the food good. Tuesday, June 7th was our wind up hosted banquet which was held in the same lounge. We had arranged to have a N Y Steak Bar-Be-Que. Sreaks were cooked to order then salad, vegetables and fixings, along with apple pies and whipped cream were set up buffet style. It was extremely well handled and our guys raved about the meal. Once again the two lounge servers were outstanding and the young gal who cooked the steaks did an outstanding job.
Breakfasts were buffet style in th 2nd floor restaurant. Great for golfers in a hurry.... handled well and we very much appreciated the kitchen and serving staff opening at 6:30 a m (instead of the usual 7:00 a m) enabling us to meet our 8:00 a m tee time at the Dunes. Food was tasty and plentiful. The Ramada is an older style hotel/motel but has been up-dated and generally suited our needs well. Very good large hot tub!
The Pro Shop, starter and restaurant staff at Sun Rivers were friendly and most accommodating. Good practice facilities. Some of our high handicapers found the course harder than most and struggled with the many \"blind\" shots. Lower handicapers generally enjoyed the challenge. Likely would select a different course next time.
The Pro at the Dunes requested that the event organizer sign the \"waiver\" for all power carts which was politely refused....instead each power cart driver signed the waiver accepting responsibility for bodily injury or property damage and we were on our way. Staff and owner Bill Bilton Jr were very friendly and most accommodating. Great new Clubhouse. The golf course was enjoyed by all even though some greens had been heavily fertilized that morning and a few greens were damaged. Seven foursomes....and the round took from three and a half hours for the first group to just under four hours for the last group. The course is very playable and suited our guys very well. We shall return! FYI our rough calculations indicate that our group spent between $38,000. and $40,000. for the entire 6 days most of us were on the road.
Thanks again Ross. Cheers!
Dave

Just wanted to let you know something about our group trip to Kelowna earlier this year. At the Quail course, we were all given a $10 credit because two tiny patches of green were roped off as unplayable. Essentially we all got a free sleeve of balls due to a very minor course issue. I (and the rest of my group) was totally impressed by this gesture by the Quail course...something many courses would not have done. That really made a positive impression on us. We in BC sometimes complain about service, but certainly not at the Quail course. They were top notch in every way. Thanks again, we are looking forward to next year's trip!

I just wanted to give you some feedback about my golf trip/package. I had a GREAT time. I had no problems with the Coast Capri Hotel, nor at the Okanagan Golf Club or at Gallagher's Canyon Club.

I found the Coast Capri Hotel to be in a good location, my room was clean and of good size. Also, it was in a very quiet location. The room was about half-way back and on the side facing Kelsey's Grill. I didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked good. The lobby and restaurant area was spacious and had a friendly ambience. The staff at the front desk was always friendly and professional. I would definitely stay there again, as well as recommend it to other travelers.

As for the golf courses, I loved all three of them. I found Gallagher's to be a little more of a challenge, but still played it well and had a good time with a couple of club members. The Bear and Quail Courses of the Okanagan Club are also "must play" and beautiful courses. I liked the Quail Course a little better because I liked the challenge of the 17th & 18th holes. They are beautiful finishing holes, both of which I parred. I also think that the Okanagan Club is a little more casual and felt a little more comfortable playing with the golfers that I was paired up with. The first day I was put in with three very nice friendly locals. When I played the Quail, I was paired up with a nice gentleman from Vancouver who was visiting your city, like me. I would definitely play all three again, but it will have to be after I try to play other courses in your area. All three courses are what I call "feel good" courses. These are courses that it feels good to be playing there. That makes my golf day.

Anyway, thank you again for all your help to make my golf vacation a memorable one.

Aloha, Randy
